The Veterans Administration Health care System (VAHCS) in Salt Lake City, Utah, is seeking a full-time Board Eligible/Board-Certified, Internal or Family Practice Physician with experience in Women's Health. This position is located in the Pocatello, Idaho CBOC.
Primary Care Women's Health Physician provides comprehensive outpatient care for a panel of adult female patients. This consists of the provision of gender specific care to women Veterans such as breast and cervical cancer screening, contraception counseling, and appropriate referral for obstetric or gynecological care when medically appropriate. The physician participates in VA-sponsored training for women Veteran providers as necessary to achieve and maintain proficiency. The physician contributes to the achievements of quality of care standards, efficiency, process improvement, and patient satisfaction. The physician writes orders for diagnostic testing, prescribed medications, and consultation to specialty services utilizing an electronic patient record system.
This is a 100% full time clinical position involving the provision of primary care physician services to an assigned panel of patients and includes such activities as the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illness, specialty referrals, care coordination between service lines, and communication with patients and/or their appropriate surrogates regarding findings and management plans. In addition, the physician will also provide service to patients on other provider's panels as needed in order to provide continuity of care when the other providers are absent.
The physician will further support the VA mission thru participation in applicable VA national, VISN, and local quality and process improvement initiatives' This includes, but is not limited to, Performance Measures & Monitors, and Advanced Clinical Access. The incumbent will work with supervisory and front line staff in his/her own and other service lines to foster and improve the operation of the CBOC.

Work Schedule:Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm

Salary is determined by a Physician Compensation Panel based on Qualifications, Education and Experience.
