IO Design Engineer

Company Name:
Career Development Partners
As an IO Design Engineer in the Corporate R&D department, you will be challenged on a daily basis with a diverse list of tasks covering design, verification, test, and silicon qualification. You will work with a team to enhance internal methodologies toward more robust design practices. In addition, you will work with process development in creation of custom components that enhance IO interface ESD capability for new processes. You will be expected to create digital and analog interface logic for off-chip communications.
The IO Design Engineers:
- Work in an effective team environment that includes interfacing with Process, Test, Modeling, CAD, PDK, and BU Engineers as well as Manufacturing, Failure Analysis, and Assembly Staff.
- Conduct Transmission Line Pulse testing of components to assist process engineering in creation of more robust IO interface primitives, and stress testing of completed IP in real world settings.
- Optimize through simulation the design of standard and non-standard IO interface logic elements that meet and exceed a variety of industry standard specifications.
- Develop robust IO interface logic libraries with multiple view types to support industry standard tools for enhanced BU design flows in chip level assembly and verification.
- IO interface logic has to be RAD hardened, ESD and Latch-up enhanced for greater than industry average immunity to damage and can work in harsh automotive, industrial, and military applications.
- Design re-useable IP in smaller and smaller form factor libraries that utilize circuit under pad and multi-chip module capability for multiple bonding applications including through silicon via development.
- Utilize coding skills to automate design and verification tasks that increase first time right success in development of IO interface libraries.
- Create documentation to enable chip developers a clear path to successful integration of interface logic capable of meeting the rigorous design and testing requirements.

Position Requirements
- BS/MS degree (electrical/computer engineering) with 5-10 years of semiconductor industry experience.
- Understanding of integrated circuit design & test with computer programming & scripting capabilities.
- Strong math skills and simulation experience in interpreting and applying industry interface specifications.
- Good analytical and statistical skills in qualifying silicon designs
- Able to work independently and cooperative in a team, is fluent in the English language, and has good interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and self-directing with experience managing projects and interacting with all levels of personnel.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
